Xlibris Releases It Could Not Happen Here but It Did -- New Book Offers Readers Fascinating Insight on World War II Through The Stories of Two Jewish Families

BLACKSBURG, Va., Jan. 11, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Xlibris, the leading print-on-demand self-publishing services provider, announces today the release of It Could Not Happen Here but It Did: A Transatlantic Saga: 1940-46, a new book about World War II history authored by David A. de Wolf.

The text is the result of three ledgers the author inherited from his late parents. These ledgers contain letters from his grandfather and uncle in a Netherlands under the severe yoke of Nazi Germany, and copies of letters his father wrote describing life in the U.S. They give a fascinating insight into the way two Jewish families had to deal with the hardships of the Nazi occupation, and into the life of a displaced family in the U.S. during the war. The intelligence of the writers conveys messages which the censors fortunately missed. Ultimately, this book will give readers a comprehensive look at WWII.
