City National Bank Announces Philanthropic Performance in Nevada for 2009

In-Kind Support and Volunteer Outreach Increases to Record Levels

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 11, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- City National Bank today announced its philanthropic performance in Nevada for 2009 and the extensive nonprofit organizations and charitable causes it supported last year. The bank contributed monetary and in-kind support of more than $125,000 to 70 nonprofit and community organizations in 2009.

In-Kind and volunteer outreach reached record levels as part of the bank's philanthropic performance last year. Bank colleagues donated more than 1,300 hours in volunteer service, which included serving on nonprofit boards, reading to students at various elementary schools, staffing charitable events such as the Magical Forest event in Las Vegas, and much more.

"Our community outreach last year was very impressive given the challenges we all faced with the struggling economy," said Larry Charlton, senior vice president and Nevada regional executive of City National Bank. "This year will be equally as challenging as last year as we try to help more nonprofit organizations with fewer dollars. We have become much more creative in our approach to helping our community partners."

Charlton highlighted the bank's $40,000 in-kind donation of office space and equipment to Community Health Charities of Nevada last year as an example of how the bank looks for innovative ways to help meet the needs of communities in Nevada. "Given the lingering economic challenges still facing Nevada this year, City National will once again look for ways to help nonprofit groups beyond its traditional monetary support."
