SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - January 13, 2010) - Seattle-based medical company Carena, Inc.
named Cecily Hall as its new Vice President of Operations. Carena providers
treat members' urgent, but not life-threatening, medical concerns 24/7 in
the home. This enables members to avoid non-emergent, costly trips to the
emergency room (ER), and receive the personalized care and education they
need to be better health care consumers.
Previously, Hall spent nearly 18 years with the Microsoft Corporation, most
recently as the Director of US Benefits. Her contributions to Microsoft's
benefit plans, programs, and design helped her gain national attention from
both the Clinton Administration and President Obama for employer innovation
in health care.
"Hall's extensive experience in corporate benefits and service-related
management makes Carena that much stronger," said Ralph C. Derrickson,
President & CEO of Carena. "Adding this kind of depth to our senior
management team helps prepare us for our 2010 business expansion."
Hall's experience lies in development and deployment of cost-effective
benefit plans and programs, site-services, health care and e-health
initiatives, disability management strategies, leave-of-absence programs,
and methods of more effectively managing specific health concerns such as
weight management and autism. Hall currently serves on the Board of
Directors for Overlake Hospital Medical Center and Virginia Mason Medical
Center's Bailey-Boushay House. Hall also was appointed to the Business
Advisory Group for The Joint Commission in 2007, and she speaks at health
care forums nationwide. Prior to her work with Microsoft, Hall spent 10
years with Nordstrom, Inc. in management and human resources roles.
Hall joins Carena's senior management team that now includes Peg Carver,
Executive Vice President of Engagement; Dr. Frances Gough, M.D., Vice
President of Medical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer; and Teri Bellamy,
Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer.
"Carena is helping create a sustainable future for health care, and it's
really exciting to be part of such a forward-thinking company," said Cecily
Hall, Vice President of Operations for Carena.
