Photo Release -- New Teen Comedy Featuring Chyna Layne to Make West Coast Premiere at International Family Film Festival

NEW YORK, March 4, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- All Screwed Up, a new teen comedy starring Chyna Layne, will have its West Coast Premiere during the 15th Annual International Family Film Festival, which runs from March 11-14 in Burbank, California.

The film will screen at the Chaplin Building Screening Room, Raleigh Studios, 5300 Melrose Avenue, on Friday, March 12 at 5pm.

Tickets for the screening are $10.00 and are available at the IFFF website at www.iffilmfest.org.

Lead actress Chyna Layne has garnered critical acclaim as part of the ensemble cast of the hit film Precious: Based upon The Novel Push, by Sapphire, which is in the running for six Oscars including Best Picture, at this Sunday's 82nd Annual Academy Awards.

All Screwed Up is written and Executive Produced by Bud Rebel, produced by Matthew Pellowski and is directed by Neil Stephens.

Rebel himself will be attending the screening, and has promised some exciting giveaways for audience members.

The film is a family friendly teen comedy about two high school teenagers -- an African American girl (Layne) suffering from Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and a Caucasian boy (Jake Waldman), star of the high school basketball team -- who mysteriously take on each other's personalities after a close encounter with an unusual 'pet' she orders on the internet.

Living in each other's shoes -- literally -- forces the teens to see life from a different perspective, with funny and touching results that will remind everyone of the awkward teen years -- and affect audiences of all ages.

All Screwed Up was shot on location in Rockland County, New York, of which Executive Producer Rebel is a native.

It had its World Premiere at the first ever Friars Club Comedy Film Festival in New York this past fall.

The IFFF advocates and encourages the creation and sharing of family film and screenplay product through film exhibition, professional and children's hands-on film camps, seminars and post-film discussions. The IFFF has a target audience of Filmmakers, Producers, Distributors, Press, Critics, Industry, Small Businesses, Families and Kids.

"Budrebel Productions is very honored to have the West Coast Premiere of our film as part of the 15th Annual International Family Film Festival," says Executive Producer Bud Rebel.

"The mandate of the festival -- which is to pay tribute to family films -- fits in splendidly with the concept of our own film, in which we have used the family film genre to tell a complex and entertaining tale about teenagers at a crossroads in their young lives. Many people see family films as light and superficial, but we believe that they provide a terrific way to tell a serious story without alienating younger audiences. The entire family can be educated and entertained simultaneously by our film, while having a good laugh along the way."

The first time filmmaker says that after numerous challenges in the post production process, to see the film now enjoying its West Coast Premiere at the IFFF event is "tremendously rewarding."  The filmmaker is in talks with various distributors and cable networks interested in acquiring the film.
