Ecology and Environment, Inc. Awarded $40-Million Navy Contract


BUFFALO, N.Y., March 10, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Ecology and Environment, Inc., (Nasdaq:EEI) today announced that it has been awarded an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with a ceiling of $40 Million for environmental planning and engineering services by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), Atlantic. 

The work to be assigned will include National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation in support of proposed infrastructure-related actions related to Aircraft Homebasing issues, and may also include tasks pertaining to new construction, renovation, and Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) actions and demolitions. 

Work will be performed within NAVFAC's Atlantic area of responsibility and the adjacent waters of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans – including the continental United States, the Caribbean, Europe, and North Africa – though tasks may be assigned anywhere in the world.  The contract has an initial term of one year, followed by four additional one year option periods, with an expected completion date of March 2015.

The documents to be prepared will include Categorical Exclusions (CATEX), Environmental Assessments (EA) and Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) under NEPA, as well as Environmental Reviews and Environmental Studies under Executive Order (EO) 12114. A variety of related studies and services may be required, such as: Air Conformity Analyses; wetland delineation and mitigation plans; cultural resource surveys; threatened and endangered species surveys; water quality and storm water management studies; noise impact studies; community impact studies and public involvement strategies.
