Keynote Speakers Discuss a Bright Future for Both Industries With a Key Theme of Building Customer Relationships


PHILADELPHIA, PA--(Marketwire - April 21, 2010) -  The first day of the info360: AIIM Expo + Conference and ON DEMAND Conference & Expo included a variety of very successful events. The halls of the convention center were filled with thousands of technology and printing professionals as well as industry analysts and media. The two events run through Thursday, April 22 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.

Michael Rogers, MSNBC's "The Practical Futurist" and Technology Expert, started off the day as a keynote speaker for info360. The conference room quickly filled as he discussed ways for businesses to continue to move into the virtual world to stay competitive and communicate effectively with their customers. Following Mr. Rogers, Robert Shimp, J.D. and Group Vice President of Oracle Corporation, led a lively discussion on how innovative organizations are driving the integration of content management with their core business processes. John Mancini, President of AIIM, presented Eight Trends that will Transform the Content Management Industry. On Wednesday, Whitney Tidmarsh, CMO of EMC, will kick off the morning sessions with a discussion on successful strategies for transforming information into new sources of business value. Following Ms. Tidmarsh will be Cyrus Mistry of Google who will talk about Reinventing Work, Collaboration & Innovation in the 21st Century.

SharePoint 2010 Summit @ AIIM Expo was kicked off with a keynote speech by Eric Swift, General Manager, Microsoft, who discussed the benefits and ease of the new SharePoint 2010 in action to the standing room only audience, all interested in learning about the new product that will be released soon. The SharePoint 2010 Summit @ AIIM Expo will continue through Thursday with innovative sessions from those who developed SharePoint 2010, as well as early adopters who are already putting this new platform to work in their organizations.

For ON DEMAND, Jeff Hayes, President of InfoTrends, kicked off the Conference with a presentation on the Future of the Industry outlining print opportunities in an interactive world. Following his presentation, Mr. Hayes presented a Lifetime Achievement Award to Charles Pesko who helped start the ON DEMAND event 17 years ago when the industry was still in its infancy. Following Mr. Hayes, Xerox, a sponsor of ON DEMAND, offered a keynote presentation moderated by Gina Testa, Vice President. Panelists included executives from Universal Studios, Dow Jones and Company, Anderson Direct, Chrysler, LLC and Y&R. The speakers educated the digital printing industry professionals in the audience on the importance of catering to the needs of their customers efficiently, and shared how Xerox's marketing strategies have shifted over the past year or two to better its success.

On Wednesday, the ON DEMAND Conference will focus on improving business and will kick off with a general session led by speakers from Fed Ex and the University of Texas who will talk about improving the bottom line in a tough economy. Ken Garner, President of MFSA, will talk about improving a competitive position in the printing, mailing and fulfillment industries and Charles Corr, Vice President of Mimeo, will end the morning general sessions talking about the War Against Print & How to Survive It.

On the show floor free educational sessions, networking opportunities and dozens of new products were introduced at both info360 and ON DEMAND. In the afternoon, InfoTrends announced the winners for the ON DEMAND Best of Show Awards. Professionals from the graphic arts and printing community judged exhibitors on nine different categories including 1:1 Communications, Color Digital Printing Equipment, Innovative Use of Technology and Workflow Solutions. Among the nine winners were Bitstream, Spiel Associates, Inc., Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. with three awards, GMC Software Technology, Avanti Computer Systems and Rochester Software Associates, Inc. 

info360: AIIM Expo + Conference focuses on content and information management, while the ON DEMAND Conference & Expo is focused on the digital document output/production industry. Together the events showcase the lifecycle of a document from creation, management, storage, capture, archiving and printing.
