The Rovi music database was selected by Wenner Media to provide its over five million unique RollingStone.com users with comprehensive metadata about their favorite albums and artists ranging from rock to jazz to country and everything in between.
The Rovi music database will serve as the taxonomy of music metadata for RollingStone.com's vast directory of artists and will supplement that directory with album titles, album art and information about tracks, labels and release dates. Rolling Stone's use of the Rovi music database includes identification tags to simplify cross-promotional and sales activities with other Rovi-powered online stores and portals.
