BroadVision Taps Communications Pioneer as Chief Marketing Officer

Giovanni Rodriguez to Help Lead Company's Entry Into the Enterprise Social Networking Market

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., May 3, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- BroadVision, Inc. (Nasdaq:BVSN), a global provider of online commerce and business social networking solutions, announced today that it is welcoming Giovanni Rodriguez as Chief Marketing Officer to lead the company's global marketing initiatives.

Rodriguez is an innovator, author, and public speaker on organizational leadership and marketing. A pioneer in post-Web 2.0 communications, he has advised and consulted for numerous B2B leaders such as The New York Stock Exchange, SAP, Alcatel-Lucent, and Verizon Business, as well as leading consumer brands such as General Mills, Unilever, Best Buy, and the Automobile Association of America (AAA). He is also known for his work in helping to position technology companies in transition, including FAST Search and Transfer (now Microsoft), Ribbit (now British Telecom), JAJAH (now Telefonica), and VMware, where he worked with the team that led the company's entry into the enterprise software market. Most recently, Rodriguez was co-founder and managing partner of The Conversation Group (TCG), a global consultancy advising companies on social technologies and business innovation; he now serves as chairman and consulting partner at The Reimagine Group, an offshoot of TCG. Before TCG, he was a principal at Eastwick Communications, a Silicon Valley public relations agency with a strong legacy in marketing B2B technology companies. Rodriguez is a trustee at the Museum of Craft and Folk Art, a founding fellow at the Society of New Communications Research, and a board member at Latinos for Social Media (LatISM). He is a graduate of Princeton University.

"Giovanni is a perfect addition to our global team," says Dr. Pehong Chen, President and CEO of BroadVision. "With the recent launch of Clearvale, our most innovative enterprise solution yet, there's much that needs to be done to as we move into the emerging market that is enterprise 2.0. Giovanni's immense knowledge and experience in the world of new communications will further assist us in establishing ourselves as one of the key leaders in a new age."

"It's a tremendous time to be joining BroadVision," says Rodriguez. "The company that helped introduce e-business during the first Internet era is poised to define that market again, but this time for the post-Web 2.0 world. Businesses around the globe are beginning to grasp the opportunity to reimagine themselves in this new world, and BroadVision will be there to support them."
