Jason Huggins, the creator of Selenium and co-founder of Sauce Labs, will present the closing keynote at DevNation in Chicago entitled "100% Software Development in the Cloud - from Check-in to Deploy" on Saturday, May 15 at 4:30 p.m. The presentation will focus on the current and future state of cloud-based software development tools and services.
Huggins currently leads product direction at Sauce Labs, whose Sauce OnDemand service allows users to run automated cross-browser functional tests in the cloud without having to maintain or update test infrastructure on-premise. Huggins' expertise in functional testing stems from his tenure at Google and ThoughtWorks where he first created the Selenium testing framework in 2004.
In his keynote, Huggins will examine "iteration zero" -- the foundation-level activity that every software project must mass through where the tools to run the rest of the project are setup and deployed. He will address the trend of modern startups utilizing 100 percent of these services -- from source control, issue trackers, build servers, automated test frameworks and deployment scripts -- via the cloud.
