Canon Communications Names Michael Behringer as COO and Fred Gysi as CFO

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - June 2, 2010) -  Charles G. McCurdy, Chairman and CEO of Canon Communications LLC, today announced management changes designed to facilitate the company's continued growth. Michael P. Behringer, who is Vice Chairman of Canon, will add the title and operating role of Chief Operating Officer. At the same time, Fred Gysi has been named Chief Financial Officer. He succeeds Dan Koskovich, who is leaving Canon to pursue other interests.

Kevin O'Keefe and Ron Wall, Executive Vice Presidents of the Trade Show Division and Publishing Division, continue to report to McCurdy as will Gysi.

"Canon has more than doubled in revenues in the last five years," said McCurdy. "At the same time, we have broadened our product offerings beyond print and events into digital and data while greatly expanding our geographic focus into key international markets. These management changes, both in personnel and structure, will allow Canon to continue its strong growth path."

As COO, Behringer will focus on product development, business development, corporate development, operations, legal and corporate affairs. He has worked with McCurdy for over 10 years at their investment company, Apprise Media LLC, and at Primedia, and has nearly 20 years of investment, product development and operational experience in the publishing, internet, event, and television industries.

Gysi has a strong background in corporate finance and public accounting. Most recently, he was CFO at Creativity, Inc., a Los Angeles-based crafts company. Earlier, he was CFO at THQ, a publicly held developer and publisher of video games, and Stadco, a manufacturing company. Gysi is also a former partner at Deloitte, where he established and directed the firm's financial management consulting practice serving the unique needs of the CFO and the organization and operation of finance and accounting departments.

"Michael will increase his focus on expanding our operations," said McCurdy, "and this additional title recognizes his long-standing role and contributions as a member of Canon's senior management team. Fred's experience in corporate finance, acquisitions, international markets, and public company management deepens and broadens Canon's leadership team and skill set. I look forward to working closely with Michael and Fred as we move into the next growth phase for Canon."

McCurdy also noted that Terry Pasteris has been named Vice President, Human Resources, after acting as interim head of HR.

Behringer will maintain his role as Managing Director of Apprise Media LLC, an investment-management company focused on the media and information sector.
