IRVINE, CA and BATON ROUGE, LA--(Marketwire - June 22, 2010) - Paciolan, the leading provider of venue enablement in college athletics, announced today that Louisiana State University (LSU) has renewed its long-term partnership with the company and will be converting to Paciolan's fully hosted ticketing solution. Completely automated, the hosted system will improve LSU's ticket processing speed and expedite sales for all Tiger athletics events, including the 92,000 seats processed for each football game, which includes 20,000 season ticket holder accounts and 15,000 student tickets.
The system will also help LSU protect their data with automatic backups and built-in security -- all while satisfying Payment Card Industry (PCI) system requirements. Additionally, the university will significantly reduce its hardware and infrastructure investment, while remaining up-to-date with Paciolan's latest product enhancements to best serve loyal Tiger fans.
A top online ticket sales client, LSU continues to marry their high demand in football with industry best practices in ecommerce to annually process 65 percent of their football season tickets online. By renewing season ticket holders online, LSU is able to provide fans a more convenient method to purchase tickets, while allowing the box office to automate the selling process. LSU is also able to provide its students -- 100 percent of whom purchase their tickets online -- with e-mailed tickets that can be printed at home so they can avoid long lines at the box office.
"LSU is a perennial powerhouse in SEC football and we're excited to fulfill their need for a faster and more efficient ticketing solution through our fully hosted system," said Dave Butler, chief executive officer of Paciolan. "Tiger fans will also enjoy a more convenient method of purchasing tickets."
As part of the ongoing partnership, LSU, which currently interacts with more than 200,000 combined fans on Facebook, has been selected by Paciolan to participate in the company's first-ever Social Media Beta Program. This year-long effort, developed as part of Paciolan's consumer marketing programs, includes Facebook consulting and best practice sharing with guidance from industry experts from Buddy Media who will help LSU maximize fan engagement.
LSU's social media innovations will be featured during the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) conference at a June 23 session entitled: So You Have a Facebook Page, Now What?
