BREW, Boston Region Entrepreneurship Week, Launches With Dozens of Events

Like Any Good Entrepreneurial Venture, Excitement Is High and It Is Already Expanding

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - September 1, 2010) -  Today, the BREW Crew, the all-volunteer team assembled to highlight the resources available to Boston-area entrepreneurs, officially unveiled Boston Region Entrepreneurship Week (BREW). BREW is already stocked with more than twenty entrepreneurial-focused events. Originally conceived of as a single week to celebrate all things entrepreneurial, BREW has expanded, encompassing most of the month of October 2010. The events range from open "office hours" with one-on-one meetings with industry experts to major conferences with hundreds of attendees. The excitement around the BREW concept is growing and BREW is continuing to accept suggestions for additional events.

BREW was created to shine a spotlight on the entrepreneurial ecosystem that provides resources and infrastructure to local entrepreneurs, and to highlight the area as a center of excellence for all things related to conceiving, launching, and building new companies. This includes everything from the local coffee shop to huge publicly-held technology-enabled enterprises. The events are being run by organizations such as University of Massachusetts, Brown University, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, the Mass Tech Leadership Council, The Capital Network, and MIT Enterprise Forum, MassChallenge and more. "Boston Region Entrepreneurship Week (BREW) began as a single week of activity but has turned into a month of celebrating everything related to launching and nurturing companies in the Boston area," said Joe Caruso, founder of BREW and an advocate for entrepreneurs for 20 years. "Boston is an entrepreneurial hub. All around Boston, Worcester and Providence there is a vibrant and thriving community of people and organizations that help entrepreneurs succeed."

BREW is actively recruiting additional events. Organizations that register before September 15 will be eligible to participate in a PulseTV Network entrepreneurship series and for placement in a SCVNGR trek. Click here to register your event.
