Birst's On-Demand Business Intelligence Solution Helps Aspect Enhance Ability to Forecast Business Performance

Birst's Flexible, Dynamic Reports and Dashboards to Provide Role-Based Reporting and Analysis for Marketing and Sales to Support More Informed Decisions

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - October 26, 2010) - Birst, the leading provider of on-demand solutions for business intelligence (BI) and analytics, today announced that Aspect, a global provider of unified communications and collaboration services and software, has chosen Birst to provide its sales and marketing organization with role-based reporting and analysis. With key marketing and sales information delivered by Birst's flexible and dynamic reports and dashboards, Aspect will be able to better forecast future business performance and make more-informed decisions to support business objectives.

"We've learned that -- when it comes to BI -- one size doesn't fit all," said Thomas Chamberlain, director of Sales Readiness, Aspect. "With Birst, we are able to help the company make better decisions by providing users with reports and dashboards that are tailored to specific job functions. And, because Birst is a hosted solution, it's affordable and won't deplete our valuable IT resources."

The company initially deployed a hosted BI application to improve the accuracy of its revenue forecasts, but quickly realized the solution was not meeting its diverse needs. Aspect replaced its existing BI solution with Birst because it offers the advantages of a hosted solution, as well as the ability to easily create role-based reports and dashboards that can be distributed to Birst users and non-users, alike. Utilizing Birst's dashboards, Aspect employees will be able to view up-to-date, high-level information and then instantly drill-down for additional detail.

Aspect's initial deployment of Birst will analyze data from its customer relationship management application to provide key sales-related information, including more accurate revenue and bookings forecasts that are a critical component of the company's budgeting process. In later phases of its deployment, Aspect plans to incorporate data from its sales commission tool, which will allow comparison of bookings and billings with forecasts, and help predict actual performance. By adding data provided by its marketing automation application, Aspect will be better able to track the results of marketing activities in order to optimize its use of marketing resources.

"Information is valuable only if it's relevant to the person using it," said Brad Peters, CEO of Birst. "That's why we make it easy for our clients to create the customized reports and dashboards they need. With access to accurate, up-to-date, relevant information, people are able to make better, faster decisions that improve business results."
