ClairMail Wins Celent XCelent Advanced Technology Award

Research Finds ClairMail's Mobile Banking Product Is the Most Widely Adopted Solution in the Market With More Active Users Than Any Other Mobile Banking Vendor

SAN RAFAEL, CA--(Marketwire - December 2, 2010) -  ClairMail, Inc., the leader in mobile banking and payments solutions, today announced that it was awarded Celent's XCelent Award for Advanced Technology in the research firm's 2010 Mobile Retail Banking Solutions Report. The report, Shuffling the Mobile Banking Vendor Deck: A Comparison of Mobile Retail Banking Solutions, details how vendors' ranking and capabilities have changed since 2007, the last time the survey was conducted.

The report, which evaluated 15 total mobile banking companies, found that ClairMail outpaced all other surveyed vendors in the total number of active end users (see figure 10). This important metric validates ClairMail's continued focus on serving the top end of the Financial Institution (FI) market, with a customer base now including eight of the top twelve US banks.

While citing ClairMail's continued market dominance in the top-tier FI market, Celent also named ClairMail the recipient of the XCelent Award for Advanced Technology -- giving the company high scores for high mobile banking enrollment, end user customization capabilities, and advanced administrative tools like the ClairMail CSR console and unique analytics and reporting features.

"Receiving Celent's XCelent Advanced Technology Award demonstrates the effects that our overall mobile banking vision and business focus on the top tier financial institutions continue to have on the rest of the market," said Pete Daffern, CEO, ClairMail. "We've always measured our success by the growth of active end users, so we're especially honored to be recognized as the clear market leader for the adoption of our mobile banking solution."

In addition to finding ClairMail a leading mobile banking vendor based on the company's qualifications in Celent's measurement of deployed functionalities and advanced technology capabilities, the report also highlights ClairMail's ability to win customers without the help of larger channel partners or as a subsidiary of a core back-end system vendor -- further demonstrating the strength of its individual mobile offering and market knowledge.

"What is impressive about ClairMail is that its client 'wins' are not the result of being a back-end systems vendor or being a channel partner of a such a vendor," said the report's author Red Gillen, Celent Senior Analyst. "ClairMail's wins are due to the merits of its mobile technology alone, trumping any biases introduced by incumbent back-end systems."
