DENVER, CO--(Marketwire - December 15, 2010) -

WHAT:
KushCon II, the world's largest "Cannabis Lifestyle" convention, will take center-stage this weekend, December 17-19, in Denver Colorado in over 300,000 square feet of the Colorado Convention Center. With as many as 50,000 people expected from across Colorado and throughout the United Sates and beyond, 100-car caravans, and bus loads of excited conventioneers are headed to KushCon. Political, medical and legal experts from the local scene and national organizations as well as major musical performances will headline KushCon, offering attendees high-quality information and entertainment. In addition KushCon will be giving away as part of the 4:20 MEGA-GIVEAWAYS each day well over $100,000 in prizes including a 28 foot self contained GrowBot mobile cultivation unit. The event will be cannabis free and open to all ages of the public. And if that is not enough hundreds of vendors will be selling those special last minute KushMas shopping presents just in time to get them under the tree.

WHO:
The event kicks off Friday at 3 pm with a press conference with Gov. Gary Johnson, former New Mexico Governor and Honorary Chairman of Our America Campaign. Johnson will speak on the importance of KushCon to the growing cannabis industry and the importance for states to embrace the economic benefits of the industry.

Rep. Jared Polis of Colorado's 2nd Congressional District will address the convention Saturday, December 18 at 1 pm, to discuss the need for federal reform of marijuana laws, including legalization.

WHY:
KushCon's 300,000 square feet of exhibit space and 420 vendors will feature medical and legal experts, glass blowers, cannabis cooking classes, a full indoor extreme skating demo and a cannabis-themed replica of The Mayflower from Amsterdam. Over $100,000 worth of gifts, trips and merchandise will also be given away.

The convention will also generate significant revenues for Denver and the state, highlighting the growing medical cannabis industry in Colorado, and illustrating how this economic engine is rapidly powering up nationwide, creating jobs and revenues as efforts to legalize cannabis expands and tolerance for its use increases.

Major Denver hotels are full for the week because of KushCon and local unions are happy to have work during what is usually a slow week before Christmas. In Denver, city buses are running "Have a Kush Day" ads; the state now has over 110,000 licensed medical marijuana patients and thousands of related service providers; and recession and cash-strapped communities are turning to the cannabis industry to make up budget shortfalls. In Colorado, medical marijuana sales tax has already generated millions of dollars for the state's coffers.
