Luxe List Home LLC Wins 2010 Summit Emerging Media Award

Website Matching Most Desirable Rental Clients With Prestige Properties Cited for Pushing Boundaries of New Media

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - January 20, 2011) - Luxe List Home, LLC, which matches high-end rental clients with prestige properties throughout the country, has won a Summit Emerging Media Award, which honors companies pushing the boundaries of new media.

Luxe List was honored in the Consumer Product Website category for its online rating system, which was cited as a pioneer among new media tools. Launched in late 2009, the Los Angeles-based company employs a 200-point scoring system to evaluate luxury multifamily rentals. Currently in 17 U.S. metropolitan markets, the company will expand to more than 40 by the end of 2011.

"Our business model was designed by the consumer," said Luxe List CEO David Doyle. "Our scoring system is based on extensive behavioral research calculated to determine what the luxury renter perceives as the optimal rental experience. The result is that we present luxury renters with a short list of qualified properties -- the best of the best -- in any given metropolitan area. And, when they come to our site and access that short list, they can be sure that they will find an objective evaluation and rating based on the preferences articulated by their peers."

Luxury renters, who number nearly 10 million nationwide, can presently access more than 150 properties nationwide at www.luxelisthome.com. By year's end, Luxe List expects to list 400 to 500 properties.

Despite the stagnant economy, the luxury rental market has seen robust growth. Many consumers who can afford to buy are instead opting for a luxury rental to preserve a sense of wealth and accomplishment in a period where barriers to purchase remain high.

"A number of factors are pushing people toward the luxury rental market," said Alan Shafer, Luxe List's Chief Operating Officer. "People want to retain a sense of flexibility and mobility, yet preserve a highly desirable lifestyle and living environment without being locked into a purchase that may be worth less tomorrow than it is today."

Luxe List's proprietary decision engine encompasses several research tools that allow the site to determine the most empirically desirable aspects sought by luxury renters.

"We ranked what consumers valued most in both the residences and the community to identify what features and amenities they liked and to prioritize which, if any, they were willing to pay more for. The kitchen turned out to be the single most highly valued component in the residence interior decision. People repeatedly told us they were willing to spend more for stainless steel appliances and designer elements," said Doyle.

The typical luxury renter is behavior-centered, said Doyle.

"The person who is looking to rent the kind of property we represent is someone fairly social who goes out to dinner a few times a week, is generally up to date on trends, tends to have the latest technology, is Internet savvy, educated, has a sense of style and fashion and likes to be around people who share similar interests," he said. "They like to live in a setting in which they identify with the both community and its residents."
