The New Sunset Family Luau Dinner and Show at Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa Lets the Keiki Take Center Stage

Hawaii Island Resort Unveils New Saturday Luau With Children's Activities

WAIKOLOA, HI--(Marketwire - March 25, 2011) - The new Sunset Family Luau show at the oceanfront Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa (www.waikoloamarriott.com) on Hawaii Island will let keiki (children) perform a lively hula on stage!

Entertaining for the entire family, it will be held every Saturday at sunset beginning March 12th at the resort's Waikoloa Luau Grounds. Dancers will teach an authentic hula dance to the children so they can perform the opening act on stage and take a bow. In addition, kids will enjoy hands-on cultural activities such as pu (conch shell) blowing, 'ulu maika (stone bowling) and coconut husking before the show begins.

"In anticipation of the traditional peak family travel season in the Spring and Summer we're adding a family-themed luau to the resort's offerings here at Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa," said Bill Countryman, General Manager of the Big Island oceanfront resort. "While our current Sunday and Wednesday Royal Luau is a great experience for all our guests, the new Saturday Sunset Family Luau will cater to the 'ohana (family) and the keiki."

  • Aloha welcome with picture-taking and "Red Gecko Punch" -- a refreshing beverage
