Rivel Announces New Additions to Its June Intelligence Council Conference

WESTPORT, Conn., April 5, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Rivel Research Group announced its new lineup of speakers, topics and presentations for its fourth semi-annual Intelligence Council Conference on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 in New York City. Enhancing this year's experience will be the inclusion of two interactive presentations by Chief Executive Officers of Amerigroup and Spectra Energy, where discussions of the management/investor relations relationship will be held. The addition of CEO speakers will join the regular assembly of buy-side analysts, IR officers and senior Rivel executives that have made the IC Conference a vitally important event for investor relations professionals in the past.

CEOs James Carlson of Amerigroup and Gregory Ebel of Spectra Energy will be on hand to discuss their interaction with investor relations, how they view the IR practice and how they measure IR effectiveness. Importantly, the additions of Messrs. Carlson and Ebel to the conference offer attendees the unique opportunity to ask questions of the executives, and to gain unfettered insight into a CEO's frame of mind with regard to IR, without the subjectivity of one's own chief executive.

Also new this year, Rivel announced it has now begun including the European investment community in its quarterly research, and the June conference will be the first opportunity for IC members to learn about current trends and practices in Europe. As with past conferences, the event also offers investor relations professionals unique perspectives on current best practices in the industry, while offering attendees a forum to discuss key issues facing investor relations with other IR professionals. Key representatives of Rivel will be on hand to give presentations to those in attendance, while an interactive buy-side panel will also be present.

The conference will begin with a networking cocktail reception Monday, June 27 at 6:30 p.m. at the New York Palace Hotel – Library (located at 455 Madison Avenue, between 50th and 51st Streets, New York City). The interactive learning session begins at 9 a.m. the following morning at the same venue and will last until 3 p.m., when a raffle will be conducted for those still in attendance. The items include an iPad 2, NY Knicks tickets, NY Mets tickets and a gift certificate to the Capital Grille.

The agenda for the conference also includes:

* U.S. & European Investment Community Trends and Practices. Presentation by Brian Rivel, President of Rivel Research Group.

* An Interactive Buy-side Panel Discussion – topics will explore expectations/needs for corporate IR websites, requirements for effective one-on-ones and parameters for forward-looking guidance.

* Peer workshops/Best Practice Breakouts – Offers attendees the opportunity to discuss various IR-related topics with their peers in attendance, including IR websites, one-one-ones, guidance, crisis communications, IR effectiveness and capital deployment.

About the Intelligence Council

Rivel's Intelligence Council is the only program of its kind that involves the perspective of the buy-side in the discussion of what is best-in-class investor relations. Most programs that exist today use peer-based information to uncover what is a "best" practice, which is more of a "common" practice rather than a "best" practice. By understanding buy-side needs, the Intelligence Council provides a better platform to connect with peers on discussion. It is no longer about what everybody else is doing, rather the question becomes, "What does the investment community expect and how does this correlate with what is currently provided?"
