Neil Squire Society: Nikki Lamb Recognized at 30th Annual Women of Distinction Awards

BURNABY, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - May 12, 2011) -The Neil Squire Society's Prairie Regional Manager, Nikki Lamb, was honored for her work in the community and at the Society with the award for Leadership and Management at the 30th annual YWCA Women of Distinction Awards held at the Conexus Arts Centre on May 5th.

Lamb, a teacher, mentor and advocate for people with disabilities, is also the Executive Coordinator of the Society's annual job fair for people with disabilities, and Founder and Director of Neil Squire Solutions in the prairie region.

"Neil Squire Society gave me a vehicle to do the work I have always wanted to do and become the woman I am today," said Lamb. "Without the support and encouragement of my management, my staff and our clients I would never have been able to do the work that has resulted in this recognition. Neil Squire Society saw something in me that I never knew to be in myself: they fed it and nurtured it, and because of that, others have seen it and honored it. I am so humbled to be a part of the magic of this organization."

Since 1982, the Awards Gala has recognized women whose outstanding achievements contribute to the health and future of our community and are an inspiration to others. Nominees are women who display a sustained and significant contribution in her field of endeavour, whether locally, nationally or internationally.

This is the second time a regional manager in Saskatchewan has received this award. Melissa Rezansoff was awarded a YWCA Women of Distinction Award in 2002.
