Northwest Pipe Company Names Scott Montross Chief Operating Officer and Richard Baum General Counsel


VANCOUVER, WA--(Marketwire - May 20, 2011) - Northwest Pipe Company (NASDAQ: NWPX) is pleased to announce two additions to our executive team. Scott Montross has joined as Chief Operating Officer and Richard Baum as General Counsel.

Montross most recently served Evraz Inc. NA as Executive V.P. of the Flat Products Group with commercial and operational responsibilities for the Oregon Steel Division, Claymont Steel Division and the Regina Steel Division. Prior to Evraz, Montross was the V.P. Sales and Marketing for the former National Steel Corporation. "Scott brings extensive industry and operations experience to Northwest Pipe Company," said Richard Roman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Northwest Pipe Company. "We are excited to have Scott join our team." Montross is a graduate of Colgate University.

Richard Baum, formerly of Lane Powell, Attorneys & Counselors in Portland, Oregon has assumed the position of General Counsel. Baum's practice has focused on the areas of securities and corporate governance litigation, antitrust and intellectual property. "Rich brings impressive breadth and depth of legal experience to Northwest Pipe Company," said Richard Roman, President and Chief Executive Officer. "His skills strengthen and extend the capabilities of our executive team." Baum received his undergraduate degree at Colgate University and his Law degree from Georgetown University Law Center.
