Technology Leaders in Translation, Manufacturing and Localization Industries Discuss DITA Implementation, Risk Management in Translation and More at CSOFT's Annual Summit

Alongside CSOFT's global team of localization experts, the annual two-day conference featured speakers from Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Comtech Services, and Geller Translation Solutions, as well as guest appearances from Huawei, Lenovo, Halliburton and Cisco.

This year's summit brought a variety of localization and content management topics to the table. On the first day, June 8, Joann Hackos, President of Comtech, led a session on the role of the OASIS DITA Standard in Translation Management. Participants learned what to expect when engaging with DITA content and how to efficiently work with organizations to support effective translation practices. Bill Hackos, PhD, Vice President of Comtech, also presented his views on DITA's influence on the cost structure of information-development organizations. Lastly, Keith Schengili-Roberts of AMD shared AMD's personal experience with DITA implementation through a detailed case study.

On day two, during CSOFT's Life Sciences localization segment, Inna Geller of Geller Translation Solutions discussed the advantages of applying preventative measures to the development phase of translation projects in order to achieve a sustainable, low-risk process.

In addition to the speakers noted above, CSOFT's executive team outlined its technology strategy for 2011 and unveiled new releases for TermWiki, the world's first social learning network. The site has close to 1.4 million terms and continues to expand across 1,200 domains in 75 languages.
