LAS VEGAS, July 6, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- HeadsUp Entertainment International Inc. (Pink Sheets:HDUP) operators of the Canadian Poker Tour, Canadian Poker Player Magazine and the Canadian Poker Player Television Network and World Poker Showdown (WPS) today announced they have finalized a two year agreement to host multiple poker tournament events in Las Vegas. Subsequent to the announcement made on June 27, 2011, this contract will position both HeadsUp and World Poker Showdown front and centre in the billion dollar international poker tournament marketplace.
The deal will build out a series of 3 major events annually that will take advantage of market opportunities that have arisen in the poker industry and target a growing demand sector. Elements to be built into the events include televised broadcasts, a marketplace expo and poker training camps all adding to the revenue model.
The contract with the host venue, a major resort and casino on the Las Vegas strip will be one of the biggest market expansion strategies the company has entered into and profits are estimated by management to be in excess of $1,000,000.00 annually from this deal.
Schedules, formats and marketing campaigns will be announced shortly with the first event series planned to take place in September of this year. Management is confident that the growth taking place within the company and the acceleration of its business plan will contribute substantially to increasing shareholder value as well as the commitment to becoming fully reporting moving to a higher tier exchange so that value can be more accurately reflected in share price.
