Microsemi Participates in HDBaseT Alliance Booth at CEDIA Expo

Company Also Presents 'HDBaseT Power Evolution' Seminar Sept. 9 at 11 a.m. EDT

ALISO VIEJO, Calif., Sept. 8, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --

WHAT:

Microsemi Corporation will be displaying its latest Power over Ethernet (PoE) midspan products at the CEDIA Expo Sept. 7-10, 2011 in Indianapolis, featuring the HDBaseT Alliance's Power over HDBaseT (POH) technology. POH delivers enough power to fully power a high-definition TV through a single long-distance LAN cable, no longer requiring close proximity to a power outlet. The HDBaseT Alliance will be demonstrating just such a scenario in the Alliance booth, the first such demonstration since the POH standard was ratified. In addition, a seminar titled, "The HDBaseT Power Evolution" will be presented at the tradeshow by Daniel Feldman, business unit manager of communications power for Microsemi.

WHEN: Microsemi's products will be on display during tradeshow floor hours Sept. 8 –10. Feldman's seminar presentation will take place Sept. 9 at 11 a.m. EDT.

WHERE: Microsemi products will be displayed in the HDBaseT Alliance booth, #5145. Feldman's seminar will take place at the Marriott - Indiana Ballroom A.

WHY:

Microsemi pioneered PoE technology and is actively involved in the development, testing and deployment of high-power IEEE 802.3at PoE Plus standard. The company also chairs the HDBaseT Alliance sub-committee developing HDBaseT power specifications. Microsemi invites CEDIA attendees to visit the HDBaseT Alliance booth to learn more about HDBaseT technology and Microsemi's participation within the HDBaseT Alliance.
