The HOUSTON Club Continues Its Tradition Since 1894


HOUSTON, Sept. 13, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Announcing a new era for a Houston dynasty. The HOUSTON Club, the oldest private Club in the Southwestern United States boasting a highly distinguished membership, has announced it has secured major funding for a new location in the Central Business District. The Club, with significant history in the downtown area, will continue their tradition and announce a new downtown location soon with an anticipated move date of February 2013.

Founded in 1894, the member-owned private Club ranks among the nation's finest and spans parts of three centuries, with members over six generations that have included virtually all those leaders and principals who made our city great, a proud legacy still maintained by Club members today. "On any given weekday, Club members may dine alongside former Presidents, former Secretaries of State, and other prominent leaders in government, commerce and philanthropy," states Nadia Eloufir, General Manager.

Since the Club's founding in 1894, it has been located in five different locations in the Central Business District including The Mason Building, The Chronicle Building, Milam Building, Commerce Building and the Houston Club Building.

The membership of the HOUSTON Club prides itself on a roster in excess of 1,000 members reflecting the unique diversity of our great City and continues to grow with 75% of the new members falling in the 45 and under demographic.  The HOUSTON Club offers a long list of enticing incentives. Our members enjoy reciprocal privileges with over 250 affiliate Clubs in the United States and worldwide, including access to local yacht clubs and fine golf courses.
