IKONICS Corporation Named 2011 Tekne Award Finalist


DULUTH, Minn., Sept. 26, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- IKONICS Corporation (Nasdaq:IKNX), a Duluth-based imaging technology company, has been named a finalist for the Advanced Manufacturing Tekne award for its Digital Texturing (DTX) technology. DTX combines the company's expertise in ultraviolet (UV) photo-reactive chemistry and industrial inkjet printing to create a revolutionary system for creating textures on a variety surfaces. The patented DTX system increases productivity and substantially lowers costs for much of the texturing industry. It is currently in use by the North America auto industry, and Ikonics recently announced a distribution agreement with Kurabo Industries of Osaka for the Japanese market.
