Don Francisco's Coffee Celebrates National Coffee Day

Honors Coffee and Culture on September 29

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 29, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Don Francisco's Coffee, one of the leading coffee retail brands in Southern California and among the top 10 nationally, is celebrating coffee history and culture by encouraging friends, family and colleagues to celebrate National Coffee Day on September 29. This nationwide coffee celebration commemorates coffee's iconic place in U.S. culture being a drink that many people can't start their day without.

In a recent study conducted by Don Francisco's Coffee on how, when, where and why average Americans find inspiration, most Americans find their inspiration in the morning by taking the time to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee. In fact, inspired Americans were significantly more likely to name coffee and coffee breaks as their inspiration catalysts.

The study found that about two-thirds of adults currently drink coffee and forty-percent of Americans being heavy users, meaning that they prepare and drink coffee at home four or more times per week. The highest percentage of coffee drinkers are adults age 55+, followed by single moms and higher income adults.

In addition, Americans who drink coffee are passionate about it. When asked what they would be willing to give up in their lives instead of coffee, more than four-of-ten coffee drinkers said alcoholic beverages, chocolate and going to the movies. But coffee drinking does have its limits. Perhaps not surprisingly, the things least likely for Americans to give up for coffee are their car, their job and sex.

"For more than 140 years, our family has enjoyed and shared our passion for coffee," said Jose Gaviña. "We are proud to help celebrate the annual National Coffee Day with fans of Don Francisco's Coffee and the thriving community of coffee lovers in Southern California."

Don Francisco's Coffee encourages coffee lovers to join in on the celebration and enjoy their favorite coffee this Thursday. To learn more and for a chance to win prizes, visit www.donfranciscos.com, follow @donfranciscos on Twitter or "like" the Don Francisco's fan page on Facebook.
