IOCOM Announces Another Interoperability Win at Interop

IOCOM's Flexible Collaboration Services Interoperate With Traditional VC and Telepresence

NEW YORK, Oct. 5, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- IOCOM, a leading provider of universal video collaboration solutions, based in Chicago, is pleased to announce another large corporate customer has fully integrated IOCOM Collaboration services with their existing Tandberg/Cisco Videoconferencing and Telepresence devices. IOCOM is demonstrating their solutions at the Interop NY conference being held at the Javits Convention Center in New York, October 5-6, 2011. IOCOM is in booth #544.

This leading energy customer combined the highly flexible IOCOM service with their fixed conferencing assets to provide full cross platform usage. They integrated these systems to allow drilling rigs to communicate directly with existing videoconferencing devices at their headquarters.

"The IOCOM solution makes integration a straightforward process. We had been told by the tech department of the traditional systems that they could not interoperate but it came together quite well as we had expected," noted Gary Refka, IOCOM Vice-President of Operations.

By integrating these technologies, customers can leverage the IOCOM platform's flexibility and ease of use with existing fixed assets. IOCOM's high quality, enterprise level, video collaboration software is used by energy customers for drilling in remote locations where traditional VC is not practical. These systems can communicate across the company regardless of the endpoint manufacturer. This combination improves corporate communication resulting in quicker decisions made with more relevant and timely information.

Interoperability between platforms has long been a mainstay feature of the IOCOM product line. IOCOM believes communication should be a tool available to everyone, not just to a few with access to select equipment in specific locations. By interoperating with other manufacturers, this idea is expanded to include existing VC locations.

"The IOCOM software is a completely scalable solution on its own, from handhelds to full room systems; however, many customers already have existing infrastructure and technology in use. It is critical for our customers that we are easily interoperable with their existing systems," said Jim Miller, Vice-President of Sales.
