Chevy Dealers Across the Country Give Away New Sonic Sedan via SCVNGR

CAMBRIDGE, MA--(Marketwire - Oct 19, 2011) - Looking for a new car? Locals in 27 cities around the country now have a new way of finding one, and keeping it. From the end of October through late November, hundreds of people are expected to race around each city, solving clues and completing challenges in hopes of winning an all-new 2012 Chevy Sonic sedan 2LT.

Chevrolet has teamed up with SCVNGR, a mobile gaming company, to create Chevy Sonic Adventure. By developing a series of fun, location-based challenges, these mobile treasure hunts give lucky residents around the country the chance to become winners.

"We're introducing the all-new Sonic to an audience that is eager to discover new things every day," said John Konkel, director of sales operations for Chevrolet. "Mobile gaming is a hot trend so these scavenger hunts make perfect sense as a way to introduce Sonic, while also giving contestants a day of fun."

Participants will follow clues from their cell phones via text message or SCVNGR app for iPhone and Android throughout downtown areas for the chance to win the ultimate prize: a new Chevy Sonic.

"SCVNGR is all about having fun, so we're psyched to be involved in this awesome event," said Seth Priebatsch, Chief Ninja of SCVNGR. "Chevy has built challenges that are super social and designed to get people buzzing about the new Chevy Sonic. Let the games begin!"

Event participants are also helping out a good cause by raising awareness for the American Cancer Society.

The suggested retail price of the Sonic begins at $14,495 including destination but excludes tax, title, license and dealer fees.

The Sonic's 1.4L turbo with the six-speed manual achieves an EPA highway fuel economy of 40 mpg, making it one of the most fuel-efficient small cars in the market, on par with the 2012 Ford Fiesta SFE and the 2012 Hyundai Accent and beating the 2011 Honda Fit and 2011 Nissan Versa 1.8 SL. Along with getting 40 mpg, this version has a 0-60 time of 8.2 seconds.

Agency 720 worked with SCVNGR and Chevy for this partnership. The Chevy Sonic Adventure will take place in 27 cities around the United States.

About the American Cancer Society
The American Cancer Society combines an unyielding passion with nearly a century of experience to save lives and end suffering from cancer. As a global grassroots force of more than three million volunteers, we fight for every birthday threatened by every cancer in every community. We save lives by helping people stay well by preventing cancer or detecting it early; helping people get well by being there for them during and after a cancer diagnosis; by finding cures through investment in groundbreaking discovery; and by fighting back by rallying lawmakers to pass laws to defeat cancer and by rallying communities worldwide to join the fight. As the nation's largest non-governmental investor in cancer research, contributing about $3.4 billion, we turn what we know about cancer into what we do. As a result, more than 11 million people in America who have had cancer and countless more who have avoided it will be celebrating birthdays this year.
