uTest Launches New Atlassian JIRA Plug-In, Enabling Two-Way Integration Between JIRA OnDemand Bug Tracking and uTest's Software Testing Platform

New Bi-Directional Functionality Simplifies and Accelerates the QA Process by Seamlessly Consolidating, Tracking and Sharing Bug Data Between uTest and JIRA's Platforms

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - Oct 25, 2011) - uTest, the leader for in-the-wild software testing, is announcing a new plug-in that allows bi-directional integration with Atlassian JIRA, an industry-leading bug tracking and project management tool used by more than 14,500 organizations in 122 countries. The availability of the new plug-in coincides with today's launch of Atlassian OnDemand, fully-integrated cloud-based versions of Atlassian's award-winning development tools. uTest's plug-in is one of only twelve that have been pre-installed on Atlassian OnDemand, allowing customers to "enable" it with a single click.

Previously, companies could consolidate and track their bugs in JIRA by importing reports logged in uTest's platform. Now, JIRA users can map their custom data fields to uTest's, which creates a seamless, two-way system for managing bugs found in the lab or in real-world conditions through uTest's crowdsourced testing service.

"With hundreds of enterprises adopting real-world testing as a critical component of their in-house QA processes, uTest continues innovating by integrating with leading bug tracking systems like JIRA to simplify test case management," said Doron Reuveni, CEO of uTest. "Particularly in Agile shops, QA teams are under tremendous pressure to speed the testing cycle and launch their apps to market. uTest's plug-in for JIRA OnDemand makes it quick and easy for companies to incorporate uTest's bugs into their issue tracking software and make in-the-wild testing a seamless extension of the testing process."

One of the most sophisticated capabilities of uTest's new JIRA plugin is its one-click integration with Bug Fix Verification, a robust new time-saving feature launched in Version 4.0 of uTest's Software Testing Platform. Since uTest's community performs app testing in real-world conditions -- working on real devices, carriers, browsers, and operating systems -- it can be difficult for customers to validate that a bug fix has addressed the problem. Using Bug Fix Verification, companies can automatically send a request to uTest's community, ask them to try to reproduce the functional bugs on a newer version of the application, and report back whether the defects have been successfully eliminated.
