HootSuite, makers of the market-leading social media management dashboard, launched an App Directory platform featuring integrations featuring YouTube, Flickr, Tumblr, and Get Satisfaction. These tools are available in an advance release to HootSuite Pro and Enterprise customers, and will be rolled out to over 2.6 million users in the near future.

These apps are especially useful to corporate social marketing managers who can manage community conversation and interactions, as well as content producers and publishers who can now easily upload videos, photos and messaging across multiple social networks.

Post, Comment, Search

These integrations allow users to: upload, search and comment on YouTube videos and Flickr photos; publish blog posts, and comment or re-blog on Tumblr blog posts; and, participate in Get Satisfaction support conversations – all within the HootSuite platform.

By using these apps along with HootSuite's existing social network integrations – including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn – content publishers can broadcast and amplify their messages across multiple social channels. Further, brands can track audience sentiment in real-time to get ahead of possible public relations conundrums and customer service issues.

App Eco-system

The new HootSuite App Directory platform opens up opportunities for third party developers to build extensions into the HootSuite platform. Further, by working with external developers, HootSuite can rapidly launch purpose-specific tools to the social media management system.

In the coming weeks, the company will roll out additional integrations based on market needs and requests collected on the feedback channel. HootSuite invites interested developers to apply for access to the SDK if they are interested in building applications.

"We look forward to seeing the unique extensions, mash-ups and integrations savvy developers create for the HootSuite App Directory. Our rapidly growing customer base is eager for more tools to spark their social media powered campaigns and build their brand online to drive leads and awareness. If you have an idea, I encourage you to apply for access."
