What Sales Slump? Brandywine Sells Five of 16 Homes in the First Four Days at Lemongrass Community in Fountain Valley

Heavy Interest Reflects Pent-Up Demand for New Homes in Central Orange County

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA--(Marketwire - Dec 14, 2011) - Sales are flourishing at the Lemongrass community of 16 single-family detached homes being developed by Brandywine Homes on a 2.95 acre site in Fountain Valley.

Five homes have already been sold in the community, which celebrated its grand opening on Dec. 10 with a two-day event that attracted more than 800 people.

"We had amazing interest in this community even before we opened it. There were about 250 people on the interest list solely off of a sign on the property," said Dave Barisic, vice president of sales and marketing for Brandywine Homes, which is based in Irvine, Calif.

"Still, I was happy to see that the interest list was full of motivated buyers. The homes are relatively large at up to five bedrooms with 3,600 square feet selling at just over a million dollars, so it shows there is still a demand for big homes in the right market."

The community's two single-story models were the first to be snatched up. Two- and three-story models remain in the community, being built on a 2.95-acre site at 18110 Magnolia St. The homes, which feature distinctive Craftsman and Mission architecture, have up to five bedrooms, three or four bathrooms and three-car garages.

"Lemongrass is the only new home development in Fountain Valley and there's a big demand for new homes," said Steve Ehle, Lemongrass sales coordinator.

"Fountain Valley is a popular place to live and our average lot size of about 7,000 square feet is very attractive. We're centrally located, just three miles to the beach and a mile-and-a-half from the 405, and the local schools are very good."
