Growth Equity Investor Summit Partners Announces Eight Promotions


BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - Jan 3, 2012) - Summit Partners, a growth equity firm that invests in rapidly growing companies, today announced a series of promotions -- three Managing Directors and five Principals -- in its Boston, Palo Alto and London offices. Robin Devereux, Han Sikkens and Christian Strain were promoted to Managing Director, and Michael Anderson, Dave Averett, Vincent Lambert, Michael Medici, and Peter Rottier were promoted to Principal.

In London, Summit Partners announced the promotion of:

  • Han Sikkens to Managing Director from Principal. Mr. Sikkens joined Summit Partners in 2004. His board directorships and investments include Acturis Limited, AVAST Software, Flow Traders, Multifonds (IGEFI Group), SafeBoot Holdings (acquired by McAfee) and Welltec International. He holds a BS in business administration from the University of Groningen, an MSc in international business from the University of Groningen, and an MSc in international finance from the CERAM Graduate School of Management & Technology.

  • Christian Strain to Managing Director from Principal. Mr. Strain joined Summit Partners in 2005. His board directorships and investments include Bigpoint, Ogone SA/NV and vente-privee.com. He holds a BA in history from Yale University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

  • Vincent Lambert to Principal from Vice President. Mr. Lambert joined Summit Partners in 2006. His investments include Bigpoint, Ogone SA/NV and vente-privee.com. He received an MSc in finance from ESCP-EAP European School of Management and an MSc in management from the Cass Business School at City University.

In Boston, Summit Partners announced the promotion of:

  • Robin Devereux to Managing Director. Ms. Devereux joined Summit Partners in 2000. She will continue to serve as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer. She holds a BS in accounting from Northeastern University and is a CPA.

  • Dave Averett to Principal from Vice President. Mr. Averett joined Summit Partners in 2010. He works with management teams to identify and execute operational and expansion strategies that build long-term value. He holds a BS in mathematical sciences from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and an MBA from Goizueta Business School, Emory University.

  • Michael Medici to Principal from Vice President. Mr. Medici joined Summit Partners in 2005. His board directorships and investments include Accedian Networks, Anesthetix Holdings (acquired by TeamHealth), ApoCell, Diagnostic Hybrids (acquired by Quidel Corporation), Fermentas International (acquired by Thermo Fisher Scientific), Hiperos, LogiXML, PeerApp and Telerik. In Palo Alto, Summit Partners announced the promotion of:

  • Michael Anderson to Principal from Vice President. Mr. Anderson joined Summit Partners in 2005. His board directorships and investments include CareCentrix and National Veterinary Associates. He received an AB in economics, magna cum laude, from Princeton University and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

  • Peter Rottier to Principal from Vice President. Mr. Rottier joined Summit Partners in 2006. His board directorships and investments include AFCV Holdings, ISH (acquired by PwC), Salient Partners, Snap Fitness, Solid State Equipment and Tivoli Audio. He received a BS in finance from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
