Mondo to showcase artificial turf and weight room flooring at AFCA

Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, UNITED STATES

SAN ANTONIO, Jan. 5, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Mondo, a global leader in sports flooring, this week at the American Football Coaches Association convention in San Antonio will showcase its 3NX fiber and Thermo-bonded backing for artificial turf fields, and its Inlaid Platforms for weight rooms (booth 1016). The convention is Jan. 8 to Jan. 10 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio.

"These innovative products help football players perform their best on the field," said Federico Stroppiana, vice president, strategic development, Mondo Group. "Mondo is proud of our dedication to manufacturing durable, high-performance sports surfaces that improve the game for football players and coaches."

3NX Fiber

Mondo's groundbreaking 3NX fiber has proven core characteristics that allow it to perfectly mimic the way natural grass responds, and to do so with outstanding resilience and durability while offering superior player comfort. The 3NX fiber's translational and rotational friction characteristics lend themselves to easy pivots and turns, even in high-torque scenarios.

Thermo-bonded Backing

Thermo-bonded, Mondo's newest artificial turf backing, uses proprietary technology to provide a dimensionally stable tufted turf without needing a polyurethane secondary backing. Instead, a dual primary backing holds the turf fibers more securely in place—40 percent better than the industry standard—so it can be handled as necessary with virtually no fiber loss. The non-stretchable backing prevents elongation or other stretching of the turf.

Inlaid Platforms

Featuring an integrated, completely flat surface, Mondo's Inlaid Platforms are made from the company's durable Sport Impact and Ramflex vulcanized rubber flooring and are specially designed to withstand heavy static and dynamic loads, such as free weights and cardiovascular equipment. The surfaces are non-porous and antibacterial throughout, so they eliminate odor and hygiene issues, and they do not require coatings or finishes. In addition, Sport Impact and Ramflex have received GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certification from the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute. This means they have been tested for indoor pollutant emissions and meet strict requirements for maintaining healthy indoor air in businesses and commercial buildings. Products that are GREENGUARD Certified contribute minimal levels of pollutants to indoor environments.

Inlaid Platforms also are ideal for strength and conditioning areas because their flat profile makes them easier to clean than platforms that are different heights, and it eliminates the possibility of users tripping between platforms. They also enable facilities to maximize their exercise space and create programming flexibility for facility managers.
