COSTA MESA, Calif., Jan. 5, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The CDMA Development Group (CDG) today announced the release of a Device Test Plan (CDG183 v4.2) that streamlines the testing and acceptance of CDMA2000® devices. The enhanced Device Test Plan is comprehensive, modular in design, and easy to use. It covers a full-range of device cases to ensure that every feature, function, service, application and peripheral works properly within every type of CDMA2000 device.
CDMA2000 operators MTS India, Tata Teleservices, Reliance Communications, Bakrie Telecom and SmartFren, which collectively serve more than 125 million CDMA2000 subscribers, have chosen CDG183 v4.2 as the foundation for all of their lab-based testing. This is the first time operators have endorsed a single test plan for both "operator-procured" and "open-market" CDMA2000 devices.
Operators, device manufacturers and, ultimately, end users will benefit from this Device Test Plan which will increase product reliability, availability and economies of scale. Its modular nature also gives operators the flexibility to choose the testing that best meets their needs based on their individual network and device requirements. CDG183 v4.2 also provides a more efficient lab test solution to complement any operator's user acceptance testing.
