HealthEast to Offer Free Health Screenings

ST. PAUL, MN--(Marketwire - Jan 26, 2012) - Find out your risks for the number one killer of women and what you can do to protect yourself. Make plans to attend one of the free health screenings held in your neighborhood during the month of February.

HealthEast Care System, the largest health care organization in the Twin Cities East Metro and one of the 2012 Top Hospitals in the country, is committed to the wellness of people in our community. So that's why HealthEast is once again a sponsor of the local American Heart Association's Go Red for Women campaign this February.

Heart disease claims the lives of nearly 500,000 American women each year, yet many women dismiss it as an "older man's disease." Knowing risks for the disease is the important first step. As part of Go Red, HealthEast's Women's HeartAdvantage will provide free health screenings, including total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, blood sugar, blood pressure and body mass index (BMI) throughout February. Some of the screening events will also include a HealthEast "Ask the Doctor" to discuss your concerns or risks for heart disease.
