Spirit Airlines Opens Crew and Maintenance Base at Las Vegas McCarran International Airport and Starting Twice Daily Non-Stop Service to Phoenix-Mesa


MIRAMAR, Fla., Feb. 7, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Spirit Airlines (Nasdaq:SAVE) today marked the official opening of its new crew and maintenance base at Las Vegas McCarran International Airport.

The new base is home to over 200 employees, including pilots, flight attendants and mechanics.

In addition, Spirit is further expanding its Las Vegas operation this week with service to another new destination. Twice daily non-stop service to Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport begins February 9, 2012.

Spirit currently offers non-stop service to nine cities from Las Vegas, including Chicago (three/day), Dallas/Fort Worth (two/day), Detroit (three/day), Los Angeles (four/day), Oakland/San Francisco (two/day), Portland (two/day), San Diego (two/day), Phoenix-Mesa (two/day starting February 9, 2012), and Fort Lauderdale (one/day starting March 1, 2012).
