  • daily service between Denver and Dallas/Fort Worth with a second daily flight starting on May 17, 2012

  • twice daily service between Denver and Las Vegas.

"We understand that Denver has been looking for an ultra low cost carrier and we are here to satisfy that need," said Spirit's Chief Marketing Officer Barry Biffle. "Our cheap fares and optional services have saved customers millions because they give consumers the freedom to choose only the extras they value and they only pay for what they use."

"Spirit's decision to initiate service to Denver is great news for the city and the region," Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock said.   "New air service generates increased economic activity which translates into jobs for the people of Denver."

"Today our growing family of carriers at DIA has a new arrival," Aviation Manager Kim Day said. "Denver remains a very strong market for air travel, and we look forward to continued growth with the introduction of Spirit's new service. Their flights at Denver will certainly help us continue to see our passenger traffic grow, and it will continue to keep average airfares for this market among the lowest in the country."

"On behalf of Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and the Chicago Department of Aviation, I want to thank Spirit Airlines for adding new service at O'Hare International Airport to destinations across the U.S.," said Aviation Commissioner Rosemarie S. Andolino. "Spirit's daily service to Denver offers Chicagoans a new, super low fare option on this popular route and further expands the multitude of flight offerings at Chicago's airports."

"Spirit's announcement of new flights between Denver and DFW shows that passengers are really responding to their service," said Jeff Fegan, CEO of DFW International Airport. "We are very encouraged to see such tremendous growth from Spirit as they expand their presence in the Dallas/Fort Worth market."

"I congratulate Spirit Airlines on its continued expansion at FLL and their ultra low cost service to key markets like Denver," said Kent George, Airport Director, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

"McCarran welcomes approximately 1,100 arriving visitors from the Denver area each day, making it the airport's sixth-busiest feeder market. Spirit's entry will boost the incoming seat capacity from Denver by more than 100,000 per year, presenting greater choices and flexibility to those who wish to fly to or from Las Vegas," said Rosemary A. Vassiliadis, Clark County Deputy Director of Aviation.

"The partnership between Las Vegas and Spirit Airlines began nearly a decade ago and continues to evolve and provide more options for travelers," said Cathy Tull, senior vice president of marketing for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
