Rovi Entertainment Store Helps RIM Enable Access to Premium Movies On-the-Go

BARCELONA, Spain and SANTA CLARA, Calif., Feb. 27, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Mobile World Congress 2012 -- Rovi Corporation (Nasdaq:ROVI) today announced that Rovi Entertainment Store, the company's end-to-end, white-label solution for entertainment storefront creation and management, powers the new Video Store movie service on BlackBerry® PlayBook. Video Store provides consumers with convenient access to an extensive catalog of film and TV entertainment, including new releases that will be available for purchase or rent on the same day as they come out on DVD or Blu-ray Disc. Video Store is initially available with BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 in the United States, and is expected to be followed by launches in additional countries later this year.

"Rovi continues to lead as a technology provider for major brands that wish to add value and complement their devices with the addition of Internet-delivered premium entertainment," said David Cook, SVP, Rovi Entertainment Store Sales at Rovi Corporation.
