Mondo's Super X Performance track to serve as surface for NCAA Division I and II indoor track & field championships

NAMPA, Idaho and MANKATO, Minn., March 8, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Mondo's Super X Performance track, the world's top running surface for more than 30 years, will once again be underfoot for NCAA championship track and field meets. This weekend, the NCAA Division I and Division II indoor track and field championships both will be contested on the world-renowned track.

The NCAA Division I competition will take place at Jacksons Indoor Track at the Idaho Center in Nampa, Idaho. Division II athletes will square off at Myers Field House at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Both meets are March 9-10.

Mondo, the global leader in the sport flooring market, also made the tracks for venues that hosted indoor track and field championships for 10 NCAA Division I conferences and the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation two weeks ago.

"Mondo's tracks have been chosen for the past 10 consecutive Olympic Games, and more than 230 world records have been set on Mondo tracks, making them the surface of choice for colleges and other premier venues that host NCAA championships and other high-profile meets," said Federico Stroppiana, vice president, strategic development, Mondo Group.

Mondo's Super X Performance track is recognized globally as one of the fastest, most durable and environmentally safest tracks available. Renowned for its shock absorption and optimal energy return, the high-performance rubber surface provides consistent performance throughout its life and minimizes the occurrence of injuries. Installed at more than 1,100 venues globally, Super X Performance was the track of eight Olympic Games through 2004. (Mondo's newest track surface, Mondotrack, was the official track of the 2008 Beijing Olympics and will be the track of the 2012 London Olympics.)
