Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology Announces Four New Board of Trustees Members

PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwire - Mar 8, 2012) - The Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology announced today the addition of Tracy S. Keogh, Executive Vice President, Human Resources, HP; Mike Schroepfer,Vice President of Engineering, Facebook; Anushka Anand, Ph.D Candidate, University of Illinois at Chicago; and Sarah Loos, Ph.D Candidate, Carnegie Mellon University to its Board of Trustees. The Anita Borg Institute Board of Trustees is comprised of executives, academics and students from leading technology companies and academic institutions who are focused on the recruitment, retention and advancement of technical women.

Tracy Keogh has worldwide responsibility for HP's strategic human resources activities, including workforce development and organization effectiveness, benefits and compensation, staffing, global inclusion and diversity, and HR processes and information management. Keogh holds a master's degree in business administration from the Harvard School of Business and a bachelor's degree in psychology from Smith College.

Mike Schroepfer is the Vice President of Engineering at Facebook and leads the company's engineers who write the code used by hundreds of millions of people each day. Schroepfer holds a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in computer science from Stanford University and has filed two U.S. patents.

Sarah Loos is a Ph.D. student in the Computer Science Department at Carnegie Mellon University. Her research interests include logical analysis and formal verification of distributed hybrid systems, such as distributed car control. Additionally, she is a Department of Energy Computational Science Graduate Fellow. She has also served as a member of the Anita Borg Institute Advisory Board.

Anushka Anand is a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). Her research interest is in visual analytics which blends data mining and information visualization. Her research investigates identifying patterns and anomalies in high-dimensional data by leveraging visual features in novel ways.
