Metro Technology Releases New Version of Visual Alert(R) Law Enforcement Records Management System

Visual Alert 2 Adds Functionality to Further Support Pennsylvania's LEJIS Project

WAYNE, PA--(Marketwire - Mar 20, 2012) - Metro Technology Services, Inc., leading provider of public safety software solutions serving agencies in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, today announced major updates to its comprehensive Records Management System (RMS), Visual Alert®. The newest version of Visual Alert 2 offers major enhancements to further support Pennsylvania's Law Enforcement Justice Information System (LEJIS), as well as provides other advancements to enable law enforcement agencies to streamline their processes and spend more time protecting their communities.

"LEJIS is an incredibly valuable system for public safety agencies throughout Pennsylvania and our goal is to enable law enforcement personnel to leverage the power of LEJIS through our Visual Alert solution," said Tony Iannacone, founder and president of Metro Technology. "We are taking LEJIS to a new level by enabling local, county, state, and federal agencies to share relevant information and by also making sure they have total control over the information their individual department chooses to share. Our Visual Alert solution offers tight security measures to ensure our clients' data is protected and transmitted over a secure network for sharing data useful to others."

Visual Alert 2 enables law enforcement agencies to get real-time access to police records through LEJIS and other authorized information sharing networks while the department maintains complete secure control of the information it shares. It provides enhanced LEJIS capabilities, such as prioritizing results when conducting a LEJIS search for information on a specific individual, incident or case. This functionality saves significant time for users that would normally have to sift through large amounts of information available in LEJIS. This efficiency increases officer safety, helps law enforcement personnel make more informed decisions, streamlines investigative research, and reduces redundancy, errors and other inefficiencies.

Visual Alert 2 also offers two new unique and powerful programs for advanced information sharing that are built into the RMS. The Visual Alert 2 Resource for Information Sharing Systems (VA2/RISS) tags information approved for sharing by the department's authority in real-time empowering the agency to isolate and translate data with LEJIS or any other sharing environment, such as Pennsylvania's County Justice and Public Safety Information Sharing (CJPSIS). The second program, Visual Alert 2 Approved Generator of Information for Law Enforcement (VA2/AGILE), queues-up for, and accepts information from, information sharing partners, enabling agencies to communicate over any industry-standard secure network.

In addition, this update to Metro Technology's RMS includes numerous security features in support of the future LEJIS interactive incident report search, popularly called IR&R, which will allow agencies to request and obtain follow-up details from cooperating agencies selected from the prioritized LEJIS search results.

Visual Alert 2 is a comprehensive solution that integrates industry-standard technology with information sharing in one powerful system to help law enforcement officers streamline processes, spend less time on paperwork and spend more time protecting their communities. The total solution includes:

  • Records Management - Makes it easy for law enforcement agencies to prepare reports, manage records and control the flow of departmental information.
  • Information Sharing - Enables multiple police departments to gather and share information.
  • Computer-Aided Dispatch - Supports emergency dispatchers in guiding them to the most appropriate response to any call.
  • Resource Management - Streamlines basic operations and maximizes the value of all internal resources, from personnel to vehicles and equipment.
  • Geographical Information System - Harnesses the power of modern mapping technology to aid in crime prevention and solving.
