ActiveState's Komodo(R) IDE Named "Best Software Development Solution" Finalist for 2012 SIIA CODiE Awards

Industry Experts Recognize Multi-Language Integrated Development Environment for Excellence and Innovation

VANCOUVER, BC--(Marketwire - Mar 27, 2012) - ActiveState, whose software enables developers and enterprises to innovate from code to cloud, announced today that Komodo IDE has been named a finalist in the "Best Software Development Solution" category by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) for its 27th Annual CODiE Awards.

Komodo -- "the world's fiercest IDE" -- is a professional integrated development environment (IDE) for Python, PHP, Ruby, JavaScript, Perl, web and cloud development. Komodo IDE 7, released in February, offers groundbreaking new enhancements including integration with Stackato, ActiveState's application platform for creating a Private Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), synchronization of user settings across multiple computers, and real-time, multi-user editing for faster team programming. Komodo IDE 7 also adds support for Node.js, CoffeeScript, LESS, SCSS, EJS and Mojolicious.

"Over the years, Komodo has grown to meet the evolving needs of the development community, especially as users adopt new languages and frameworks, and move applications into the cloud," said Bart Copeland, CEO of ActiveState. "ActiveState's selection as a CODiE Award finalist is a testament to our continuing commitment to maintaining Komodo's reputation as the best multi-language IDE."

The CODiE Awards are the industry's only peer-review awards program acknowledging innovation and excellence for products and services in the business, software, digital content and education technology industries. CODiE Award winners will be announced May 10 at SIIA's All About the Cloud conference in San Francisco.

Komodo IDE 7 is priced at $295 but is currently on sale for $245 through March 31, 2012.
