Longhorn Solar Offers a $3,000 Solar Rebate to Dr. Pepper Snapple Plano Employees Who Sit Through a Free 10-Minute Rooftop Review at the April 17th Dr. Pepper's Earth Day Celebration

All Employees Will Receive a $1.00 per Watt Solar Rebate Toward the Purchase of up to a 6,000 Watt Solar Power Array That May Save Employees More Than $800 per Year on Electric Bills

DALLAS, TX--(Marketwire - Apr 17, 2012) - In order to celebrate Earth Day in Plano, Longhorn Solar (www.longhornsolar.com) will be offering a special solar rebate for all Dr. Pepper Snapple employees that live in Texas' deregulated electric service territory.

To qualify, employees must stop by Longhorn Solar's booth at the Dr. Pepper Snapple Earth Day Celebration that will be held from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at 5301 Legacy Drive, in Plano, TX 75024.

Solar design experts will be on hand to answer questions on how solar works and how much money Dr. Pepper Snapple employees can save on monthly electric bills by going solar.

Longhorn Solar also will be conducting free solar rooftop reviews to teach employees how to analyze rooftops to determine how much space is available to install solar panels as well as scan the area for possible shading constraints. Call (512) 837-8400 for more information.

On, April 16, 2012, Oncor announced that they are no longer accepting solar rebate applications for the 2012 calendar solar program. In response, Longhorn Solar immediately expanded its hugely popular rebate program to include a $1 per watt incentive to continue to help make solar affordable for Oncor customers, which will add up to a solar rebate of $6,000 on a 6-kW system. In addition, employees can also take advantage of the 30% federal tax credit that they can use to offset their 2012 tax liability.

A 6-kW solar system will generate approximately 8,400 kWh's a year of solar electricity that would be worth $882 per year at a retail electricity rate of $0.105 cents for kWh. If electricity rates rise so does the cost savings of solar.

Over 25 years, the 6-kW solar power array will reduce Green House emissions by more than 148 tons of CO2 and is equivalent to planting more than 5,899 trees.

Longhorn Solar offers corporate buying programs to all Texas-based businesses regardless of size. The Company provides free solar training seminars and community outreach programs to neighborhood HOA's, property management companies, schools, businesses, home builders and local government green teams that want to learn about solar.
