DUBLIN, IRELAND--(Marketwire - Apr 23, 2012) - Protegrity USA, Inc., a leading provider of end-to-end data security solutions and the premier security partner for Teradata, will highlight its strategic partnership with Teradata, the analytic data solutions company, at Teradata Universe, April 22-25 in Dublin, Ireland. In addition to showcasing the use of Protegrity's vaultless tokenization technology in the Teradata data warehouse environment, the two companies will also issue a joint white paper titled "Securing the Private Cloud: Exploring the Value of Tokenization."
Flexibility and control are vital for organizations mining vast amounts of data in order to react quickly to market changes. At the same time, these organizations must be aligned with data protection compliance enforcement bodies such as PCI-DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards). "Securing the Private Cloud" is a security-focused companion paper to the recently released Teradata Active Data Warehouse Private Cloud. Written for data warehouse and IT professionals, the whitepaper highlights how Teradata's Active Data Warehouse can make data available predictably and securely by leveraging Protegrity's Vaultless Tokenization technology. Together, these solutions give business the ability to predict and manage changing market conditions without risking the security of data stored in the warehouse.
"Teradata is a clear market leader committed to ongoing innovation, which is why it is among our most critical and strategic partners," said Suni Munshani, CEO of Protegrity. "By optimizing our data security solution to work specifically in the Teradata ADW environment, we are able to offer our joint clients a complete data security platform that enables them to deploy and easily manage a unified set of data security technologies to protect sensitive information across their organization."
In the joint solution, tokenization is applied to the sensitive data before it enters the warehouse, using the enterprise's own security policies. This provides a security layer for all information in the database wherever it flows, without affecting the business's ability to perform rapid analysis on that data. The solution relies upon Protegrity's patent-pending Vaultless Tokenization, which deploys a very small set of lookup tables of random values without having to store either the sensitive data or the tokens. Tokenized data can be mined and manipulated by business processes without having to return the data to its original form, improving accessibility and performance while keeping the data protected.
Additionally, Protegrity also announced that the company is now certified on the Teradata Aster MapReduce Platform -- Teradata's big data analytic tool. Now companies using this platform can continue to unlock profitable information for decision-making analytics without risk of data exposure.
Protegrity is a Silver Sponsor of Teradata Universe and can be found at Booth #13.
