AlliedBarton Security Services and Drexel University Partner to Create Learning Center to Enhance Training Access for Security Officers

PHILADELPHIA, PA--(Marketwire - May 1, 2012) - AlliedBarton Security Services,, the industry's premier provider of highly trained security personnel, continues to enhance its industry-leading training with the opening of the AlliedBarton/Drexel University Learning Center on the campus of Drexel University in Philadelphia.

The new center is designed to provide convenient access to computers and study areas for continuous e-learning opportunities through the AlliedBarton EDGE®, the company's professionally designed and executed approach to training and development. AlliedBarton security officers assigned to Drexel University and other locations in University City and West Philadelphia will have access to the Learning Center.

"We strive to make our e-learning and other training components accessible and convenient for our security officers," said Ronald Rabena, division president, AlliedBarton. "By providing this new Learning Center, our officers will have additional access to the EDGE curriculum to continue their learning and development and be better prepared for promotions and leadership positions."

"The AlliedBarton/Drexel University Training Center validates the commitment of both organizations to providing best-in-class security services by providing a convenient opportunity for security officers to increase their knowledge and skills using established e-learning tools that AlliedBarton has created and for which it is well noted," said Domenic Ceccanecchio, senior associate vice president of Public Safety for Drexel University. "It also provides motivated security officers with on-site access to the information they will need to advance their careers in the security profession."

"Our goal has been to continuously raise the bar with regard to the quality and performance of the AlliedBarton security officers who serve our campus by ensuring that they get the best professional training available," Ceccanecchio said. "We also recognize that our objective has a greater importance: by expanding our efforts to encompass officers from across the region, we improve safety and security for everyone in University City."

The AlliedBarton EDGE provides the tools necessary to E - Educate, D - Develop, G - Grow and E - Engage. The key to the AlliedBarton EDGE is the implementation of a structured career path to engage and prepare employees for additional responsibilities and future opportunities.

"This new AlliedBarton/Drexel University Learning Center is a win-win partnership for our employees, our clients and AlliedBarton," Rabena said. "It reflects AlliedBarton's commitment to provide our clients with the best trained and best motivated security officers. Our partnership with Drexel University will allow for a higher level of training, and supports our shared dedication to training and performance."

AlliedBarton will look to expand the AlliedBarton-Drexel University Learning Center's utilization in the future to provide greater access to Drexel's Public Safety Officers and AlliedBarton security officers living in the West Philadelphia community, as well as expanding e-learning computer programs geared to specific disciplines of security work.
