Australian PHR Mandate Demonstrates Significance of MMRGlobal International Patent Portfolio

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - May 10, 2012) - MMRGlobal, Inc. (OTCBB: MMRF) ("MMR") today called attention to the importance of the Australian Government's eHealth mandate and announcement this week that Australians will be able to register for an online Personal Health Record by phone or at Medicare outlets starting July 1, 2012. The Company, a leading provider of Personal Health Records (PHRs) and electronic document management and imaging systems for healthcare professionals, holds several issued patents for "Method and System for Providing Online Medical Records" in Australia, specifically pertaining to Personal Health Records. The patents have been licensed to Australia-based VisiInc PLC, who is offering licensed MMR products and services in Australia.

MMR has similar patents issued, pending or applied for in the United States, Canada, Europe, Hong Kong, Israel, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore and South Korea. The Company believes that this is a significant market opportunity for MMR and VisiInc and demonstrates the value of MMR's six-year effort to patent Personal Health Records internationally.

In the 2012-13 financial year, the Australian Government projects approximately 500,000 Australians to take up the Personally Controlled Electronic Health Record (PCEHR) service, with 1.5 million in the following year, 2.2 million in the year after and 2.6 million in three years, according to figures released by the Australian Government. Also reported, doctors will be required to participate in the electronic health records system due to launch on July 1 or lose an existing incentives package worth up to $50,000 a year per practice.

"We were pleased to learn of this significant announcement from our strategic partner and licensee VisiInc," said MMRGlobal CEO Bob Lorsch. "We believe that the rollout by the Australian Government will help call further attention to the importance and cost-saving benefits of having a PHR globally and that it will create buyer awareness and ultimately help MMR and VisiInc sell our respective products and services. We have spent years educating the market and consumers on how important it is to have a secure online Personal Health Record, and these types of government eHealth measures add credibility to our efforts in Australia and around the world."
