Gateway Analytical to Host the 2012 Inhalation and Nasal Technology Focus Group (INTFG) Annual Fall Symposium

PITTSBURGH, June 8, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Gateway Analytical announced today that it will be hosting the 2012 Inhalation and Nasal Technology Focus Group (INTFG) Annual Fall Symposium on September 7, 2012. The focus will be on the challenges and opportunities of excipients for pulmonary delivery; presenting from both an academic and industry perspective.

This one day symposium will feature the latest advances in the development of excipients for orally inhaled and nasal drug products, including presentations of case studies and focused discussions involving leading academic, government and industrial scientists while identifying the most important success factors on the path from formulation design to production.  The symposium also includes a tour of the Gateway Analytical facility where attendees can view the latest methods and technologies used in the research and development of new inhalation and nasal drug products.

INTFG is a focus group of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) and the goals of the symposium are to:

  • Advance the art and science of the pharmaceutical aerosol drug delivery system among focus group members and interested parties.
  • Provide its members with information relating to matters of scientific and technical interest in the field of aerosol products, technology and related processes.
  • Encourage a spirit of cooperation among its members and to promote favorable relations between its members and related health professionals.

"We are honored to host the INTFG Annual Fall Symposium this year," said David Exline, Senior Vice President at Gateway Analytical.  "I'm excited to take part in the discussions with many of the great minds in the field and look forward to showcasing our new facility."

In addition, attendees are invited to submit contributed papers on the broader topic of inhalation and nasal drug product technology.  The top three submissions will be given the opportunity to present their work during a Posters on Podium session at the event.  The deadline for submissions is August 19, 2012 at 11:59 EST.
