Endoscopic Surgery Training
Dr. Massoud, one of the most experienced endoscopic spine surgeons in the country, has just wrapped up the Spring 2012 series of workshops on spine surgery with a presentation on "Developments in Spine Surgery" to orthopedic surgery residents and faculty at Cornell University in New York. Dr. Massoud also conducted a series of surgical seminars in New Jersey, sponsored by Richard Wolf Medical Instruments Corp., in which he taught surgeons specific endoscopic spine surgery techniques. Workshops will resume in Fall 2012. Dr. Massoud also offers training opportunities for surgeons at Spine Centers of America. Physicians interested in participating may contact seminars@SpineCentersOfAmerica.com or visit www.SpineCentersOfAmerica.com.

Minimally invasive spine surgery procedures, such as those performed by Dr. Massoud, have been proven effective over the past 15 years and are quickly becoming the preferred treatment for many patients. The procedures use smaller incisions, leaving surrounding muscles and tissues intact, and avoid the use of general anesthesia, resulting in much shorter recovery times than traditional open back surgery procedures.
