Apple and Google Executives Join the Gamification and Mobile Advertising Leader


BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - Jul 9, 2012) - SessionM, the engagement engine for the app economy, today announced the strategic expansion of its management team with the addition of Gerald Hewes as Vice President of Engineering, Amy Jerusalmi as Vice President of Client Services and Deborah Powsner as Senior Director of Marketing.

These new hires mark another step forward in the company's vision to change the face of mobile engagement, enabling advertisers and developers to deliver mobile experiences that are more entertaining, social and rewarding.

Concurrent with the hiring push, SessionM is building a world-class sales operation, built on industry experience and expertise. Key hires within the sales operation include executives from a variety of major brands, such as CNBC, Viacom, AT&T and MTV Networks. Additionally, to accommodate the growing demand from advertisers and publishers from all industries, the company is expanding its presence beyond its headquarters in Boston, opening offices in cities across the US, including New York City, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles. New hires Hewes and Jerusalmi will join the SessionM team in the Boston office; Powsner will join the New York City office.

Led by a team of industry veterans, SessionM emerged from stealth mode in March 2012 and has more than doubled the team in that time to include over 40 experts, spanning the areas of digital advertising, gamification, mobile and analytics.

Gerald Hewes, Vice President of Engineering, is a technologist with extensive and proven experience in bringing leading products to market. Hewes joins SessionM from Apple, Inc., where he built and led iAd's analytics, optimization and insights team. In his new role, Hewes will utilize his experience in mobile, e-commerce, advertising, big data, analytics and large-scale systems to enhance the SessionM offering.

Amy Jerusalmi, Vice President of Client Services, is responsible for account management and ad operations at SessionM. Prior to joining SessionM, Jerusalmi was at Apple, via the acquisition of Quattro Wireless, where she managed the iAd account management team and was responsible for building relationships with prospective and existing clients, as well as streamlining sales operations.

Deborah Powsner, Senior Director of Marketing, joins SessionM from Google Inc., where she was responsible for business marketing and insights for the Google+ team. Prior to this role, Powsner led research and marketing outreach for Google's B2B, Government and Local Markets direct sales organization in North America. During this time, she also co-led the development and curation of Google's first e-book, "Winning the Zero Moment of Truth," also referred to as "ZMOT." In her new role, Powsner will be responsible for enhancing SessionM's position as the leading mobile engagement platform among the consumers, developers and advertisers it serves.
