The restaurant is approximately 8,500 square feet, contains seating for approximately 280 guests, and features BJ's extensive menu including BJ's signature deep-dish pizza, award-winning handcrafted beer and famous Pizookie® dessert. "We are very excited to open our first BJ's restaurant in the state of Kansas," commented Jerry Deitchle, Chairman and CEO. "Opening day sales exceeded our expectations and our Wichita restaurant team did an excellent job taking care of our guests and executing the BJ's concept. Our new Wichita restaurant reflects our development strategy to steadily increase BJ's overall brand recognition and presence along the Interstate 35 corridor from the Midwest down through Texas. To date, we have now opened eight new restaurants this fiscal year. We remain solidly on track to open as many as eight more restaurants during 2012, including the relocation of an older, smaller-format 'pizza and grill' restaurant in Boulder, Colorado, to another site in Boulder that can support a larger-format BJ's restaurant." Investors are reminded that the actual number and timing of new restaurant openings is subject to a number of factors outside of the Company's control including, but not limited to, weather conditions and factors under the control of landlords, contractors and regulatory/licensing authorities.
